Sister of Richard II. Daughter of Richard I, Duke of Normandy. She
assumed the popular English name of Elfgiva (the same name as
Ethelred's fist wife) and gave Ethelred two more sons and a daughter.
After his death she married Canute.
She was the mother to two Kings of England, the Danish king
Hardicanute (with Canute II "The Great") and the Anglo-Saxon king
Edward the Confessor (with Ethelred II "The Unready"). She outlived
her son Hardicanute by 10 years (he was King of both Denmark and
England af the time of his death).
